Sumbing is a stratovolcano in central Java. It is the next volcano down the volcanic arc from Sundoro. Sumbing, in the top right of this photo, had one historic eruption in about 1730. It was from the central vent and produced a lava flow. Photo by Jack Lockwood, U.S. Geological Survey, October 11, 1982.
