Kaliurang Observation Post

Kaliurang Observation Post is 4 miles (7 km) from the summit. The post houses a seismometer.

Four workers make visual observations from the post to monitor the growth of the lava dome. These workers can activate sirens to warn local residents of an eruption and/or dome collapse.
