Mageik, an ice-capped stratovolcano in Katmai National Park, is at the head of the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes. Reports of eruptions at Mageik have not been substantiated by discovery of young deposits. This photo shows Mageik from across Knife Creek and the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes.
