Balut (the larger island with clouds near the center) is a stratovolcano about 12 miles (20 km) south of the Batulaki Peninsula (bottom right) of Mindanao. Balut has probably erupted in the Holocene (the last 10,000 years). No eruptions have been recorded in historic time.
