Location: 58.2N, 155.1W
Elevation: 6,114 feet (1,864 m)

Trident, a stratovolcano in Katmai National Park, was originally named for three cones near its summit. Trident has erupted 15 times since 1913. A forth cone was added by an eruption in 1953. This photo shows the terminus of a lava flow from the 1974 eruption, the most recent at Trident. The 1974 lava flow is on the 1912 pyroclastic flows that erupted from Katmai volcano.
