Little Sitkin is a stratovolcano that erupted in 1776 and 1828. The 1776 eruption was explosive. The 1828 eruption produced two aa flows. The volcano has had three cone building episodes separated by the formation of two calderas. A summit crater caps the youngest cone. The youngest cone is 3 miles (4.5 km) in basal diameter.
