The Ubehebe Craters include over a dozen maar volcanoes. The volcanic center is named after Ubehebe Crater, the largest tuff ring which is 0.8 km wide and 235 m deep. Deposits from this crater overlap the lake beds of lake Rogers which is about 4 km north of the vent. Ubehebe crater is located at the north end of Death Valley National Monument (Volcanoes of North America, edited by C. A. Wood & J. Kienle, p.237).
