Lava Flows

These are recent lava flows on Pacaya volcano, in Guatemala. It is difficult to get a sense of scale here, but each flow is approximately 100-200 m wide, and ~30 meters thick. You can see that these flows have developed distinct channels. The lava within the channel has formed pressure ridges, and is separated from the channel levees by shear zones.
